Help with funding under £10,000

If you wish to apply to the Football Foundation for financial support towards setting up or developing a mental health team, league or football/sport related project and the amount you seek is below £10,000, please contact our Small Grants Team.

If you wish to speak to an assessment officer at the Foundation about a small grant, please call 0845 345 4555 and say which area you are from (e.g., North West, West Midlands, etc) and the switchboard will put you through to the right person.)

Help with funding over £10,000

If you wish to apply to the Football Foundation for financial support towards setting up or developing a mental health team, league or football/sport related project and the amount you seek is between £10,000 and £250,000, please contact our Community Team.

Other Sources

There may be a number of local sources you could approach for help with funding your mental health football/sports project.

Here are a few to try for starters:-

• It would be worth you contacting your local Mental Health Trust to talk to them about your project idea and who your target group is. They may be able to help you with funding or other sorts of support. To find out how to contact your local Mental Health Trust, click here.

• The County FAs have a licence to access a website called ‘GrantNet’. Contact your local County FA so that they can help you search for potential sources of partnership funding. Click here to get in touch.

• National Institute of Health Research – this website allows you to search funding sources related to health. Click here for this. 

• The Big Lottery Fund has a Health and Wellbeing fund. Click here for this.

• If the project you want to set up is in a ‘New Deal for Communities’ area, there may be funding available for health projects. Click here for more.
