Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for abusive and/or insulting words to a match official.
Dowie was sent from the touchline during Palace's match at Reading on Tuesday 13 September.
He has until 29 September to respond to the charge.
