At a Disciplinary Commission hearing, a claim for mistaken identity from Watford defender Danny Shittu was accepted.
The club's claim was made on the basis that the yellow card should have been shown to Shittu's Watford team-mate Clarke Carlisle.
As a result, the caution is transferred to Carlisle who had already been shown a yellow card at the time of the incident. He is therefore now suspended for one match as this would be the due sanction for a dismissal.
