Keegan clarification
Wednesday, 27 October 2004.
Following media reports today, The FA would like to clarify the charge brought against Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan yesterday.
Keegan was charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour to referee Steve Dunn following the match at Newcastle United on Sunday 24 October.
The charge relates exclusively to his words and behaviour directly to Steve Dunn in the tunnel immediately after the final whistle.
It does not relate to his post-match comments to the media. These comments will not be subject to any disciplinary action.
Keegan has until 09 November to admit or deny the charge.
