Leeds United and England striker Alan Smith
Leeds won't appeal
Wednesday, 07 January 2004.
Leeds United have confirmed to The FA that they will not appeal against the suspension imposed on Alan Smith at yesterday's Disciplinary Commission hearing.
As a result Smith's two-match ban will start with immediate effect. He will miss the match away to Newcastle United this evening and the home match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Smith admitted a charge of improper conduct (breach of FA Rule E1) in relation to an incident during the home match against Manchester United in the Carling Cup on 28 October in which Smith threw an object into the crowd.
