In the case of Steve Evans, a full suspension for a period of 20 months commencing 3rd March 2003, a fine of £8000 and a contribution towards the cost of the Commission.

In the case of Pat Malkinson, a suspension for 13 months commencing 3rd March 2003, a fine of £5250 and a contribution to the Commission's costs.

At a hearing on 23rd December 2002, a Disciplinary Commission found Evans guilty of two charges of misleading and impeding an FA investigation.

The charges referred specifically to Evans facilitating a payment of £8000 to a witness to attempt to mislead, impede and frustrate the enquiry, and making efforts for another witness to similarly mislead the enquiry by telling untruths to the investigation, although on that occasion no money was involved.

As part of the same hearing, Malkinson was also found guilty of facilitating the £8000 payment described above, and of a further charge relating to contract irregularities.

The Football Association will not make any further comment in relation to these proceedings at this stage.
