- The Carnegie Research Institute is working on a bid for a comparative study of football, rugby and cricket in Leeds and Leicester with Professor John Williams at Leicester University to investigate black and minority ethnic fans’ identities and their identification with professional sports clubs.
- Data is being gathered and analysed in an update study on a suite of research into the nature and extent of racism conducted by the Carnegie Research Institute into football (2000), cricket (1997) and rugby league (1995). The update is designed to assess levels of change in governing bodies approach to anti-racism since the initial studies.
