Live on BBC1

For football fans not able to get to Middlesbrough to watch Team GB in action for the very first time in the build-up to London 2012, this unique double header will also be live on BBC1.

Stuart Pearce's men's team meet Brazil at the Riverside on the evening of Friday 20 July in what will be an historic encounter as both sides prepare for the start of their Olympic challenge less than a week later.

But earlier in the afternoon, Hope Powell will take charge of the Great Britain women's football team for the first time as they face Sweden.

Gabby Logan will present Match of the Day live from 3.45pm for the women's match, with commentary provided by Guy Mowbray and Lucy Ward. That will be followed by the men's game from 7.30pm as Jonathan Pearce and Mark Bright sit in the commentary box. Guests include Faye White, Sue Smith and Robbie Savage.

London 2012 marks the first time that Team GB will compete in the men’s football competition since the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome and the first time ever for the women’s team.

The game will be the only chance for fans to see the men's and women's teams play before the Olympic football tournament begins five days later when Team GB women take on New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff , with the men’s team kicking off their competition against Senegal at Old Trafford (KO 8pm) on Thursday 26 July.

Tickets for the double-header are still available directly from Middlesbrough FC. Click here to book online or call the ticket hotline on 0844 499 1234
