St. George’s Park welcomed back candidates for the second stage of the UEFA Pro Licence award this week, as they work towards the most prestigious level on The FA’s Coaching Pathway.
Moving on from the leadership focus of the first stage, this time the candidates delivered coaching sessions based around a range of game related scenarios.
Fellow candidates then worked in small groups to review the sessions based on elements of the refreshed UEFA Pro Licence course - professional communication, leadership and management of self and others.
Monday's practical session was kicked-off by former Manchester United, Liverpool and England midfielder, Paul Ince, who delivered his session with the Birmingham City youth team on the centre's indoor 3G pitch.
The former Inter Milan star spoke of his belief in the course to fully prepare him for the demands of elite football management:
He said: "As a manager you always want to better yourself and you want to be prepared for whenever the next opportunity comes along. This course allows you to be prepared and to think outside of the box."
Ince is joined by 20 other candidates taking part in the UEFA Pro Licence Award, who are:-
Richard Barker; Keith Bertschin; Wayne Burnett; Keith Downing; Alex Dyer; Lois Fidler; Ryan Giggs; Stephane Henchoz; Ian Kerr; Michael Marsh; Nicholas Marshall; Michael Mellon; Dennis Mortimer; Gary Neville; Shaun North; Chris Powell; Mark Yates; Runar Kristinsson; Graham Kavanagh; Nathan Jones.
Highlights from the second day of the course can be viewed in our gallery above.
We will have more video footage from the UEFA Pro Licence on www.TheFA.com/StGeorgesPark soon.
