England Women's captain Casey Stoney lauds St. George's Park

Casey Stoney has hailed the convenience of the facilities on offer at St. George’s Park.

The England Women’s captain was speaking ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s official opening of the new National Football Centre in Burton upon Trent.

Stoney and the rest of Hope Powell’s squad stayed at St. George’s Park ahead of last month’s Euro 2013 qualifying win against Croatia and she was impressed with what she saw.

She told BBC Radio 5Live: “It’s fantastic.

“The fact you haven’t got to travel on a coach for half an hour there and back [from training], you’ve got more rest and recovery time.

“Everything’s on site - pitches, recovery, pool, hotel. Everything’s here that you could possibly need.”
