Highlights from a successful Licensed Coaches’ Club Conference at St. George’s Park

Last week, the Licensed Coaches’ Club successfully hosted its annual coaches’ conference at St. George’s Park.

Over the course of four days, more than 600 coaches attended the event in which some of leading names from football and other sports shared their insights and best practices via presentations and practical sessions.

For Level 1-2 coaches, there were guest interviews with former Bolton manager Owen Coyle, England Women’s international Eniola Aluko and FA Head of Football Development Sir Trevor Brooking.

Plus, Everton’s Academy Manager Neil Dewsnip, who has worked with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Jack Rodwell and Leon Osman, provided an example session from the Toffees’ successful youth academy.

For Level 3, 4 and 5 coaches, there were guest interviews with former Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish and former Hull City manager Phil Brown.

And special guest Gines Melendez Sotos, Spanish FA Technical Director, delivered theory and practical sessions outlining the methods that have helped develop the likes of Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Juan Mata and Gerard Pique.

England manager, Roy Hodgson, closed the conference with a sample training session on the indoor 3G pitch.

The FA, in partnership with Burton and South Derbyshire College, also welcomed 14 photographers to the national football centre to capture some of the highlights from event.

At the conclusion of each day, a selection of images was presented on the big screens for the attendees to enjoy.
