Christmas is one of the busiest times of year in the football calendar with the traditional Boxing Day and New Year's Day fixtures taking place alongside other matches during this period.

This can sometimes mean that there are few or no working days between matches. 
                                                                                                                                    
Usually, The FA would process a claim for wrongful dismissal or mistaken identity within two working days and before the next fixture, but this process is not always possible over the Christmas period.

As such, The FA has provisions regarding the timings for clubs to submit claims during this busy time.
