Liverpool Ladies manager Matt Beard has been watching Merseyside rivals Everton closely this season and is under no illusion as to how tough the clash will be this Tuesday.
Beard's side travel to Arriva Stadium as leaders of The FA WSL and the Reds boss is wary of the threat his team will face.
He said: "I watched them against Doncaster, I've downloaded a few games and watched them a fair bit over the course of the season. They are a good side.
"But if we get six points out of the next two games I'd like to think we'd be in a strong position."
Beard has also revealed where he thinks Everton could cause his side problems, adding: "Their midfield is strong and their front three is dangerous as obviously Toni Duggan's got pace and can finish, so our defence will have to be at its best.
"The thing with local derbies is that it comes down to who has the fire in their bellies at the time and who has the determination. It's important that we win the first or at least the second ball.
"My first experience of this fixture was last year in a 2-1 defeat and it was a game we should have won. If you look at our first game this year, it was our first game as a group and I thought we did OK.
"It's going to be a tough game and I'm expecting a battle."
Everton boss Andy Spence is also expecting a hard game on Tuesday night, after the last fixture between the two teams finished 1-1 in the Continental Cup.
Spence said: "It's a Merseyside derby, which always generates plenty of excitement and interest. I'm sure there will be a good crowd here and we're all looking forward to it.
"When we played in the Continental Cup back in March and it was a close game. Both teams are in decent form and will want to get the win as it's our last fixture before the summer break."
