Sir Alex Ferguson has sent a congratulatory message to The FA for supporting the ‘Beautiful Game’ for the last 150 years.

The Manchester United boss is the most decorated manager in English football history after 26 trophy-laden years at Old Trafford.

And he took time out to wish The FA a happy 150th birthday.

Ferguson said: “It’s a fantastic achievement.

“As the oldest Association they want to be remembered the right way and I think it’s a fitting tribute that the Champions League Final is at Wembley this year, so let’s hope it’s a wonderful occasion to mark 150 years.”
