"In 2013 The FA is proudly marking its 150-year history and the breadth of football activity we are able to celebrate, starting with major investments in our dual homes at Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park.
"We have a glittering professional game which sees the best supported national sides, the oldest domestic cup competition, the most commercially successful league and the oldest football league marking its 125th anniversary.
"Below that, the football pyramid has never been healthier. The FA has supported and developed football over the last 150 years to be the most popular team sport in England, played regularly by many millions and supported across the country by over 400,000 volunteers.
"For the future of the game, we have a clear focus on generating more and better English players at all levels, supported by a professional coaching workforce.
"I am delighted there has been widespread support for our new youth development plans. Having our children playing football on smaller pitches in reduced teams will help develop greater skills at a younger age. The emphasis will be on learning how to play the game and honing technique in an enjoyable way, while never losing the competitive spirit.
"Women’s football will also be in the spotlight with the summer’s UEFA Championship in Sweden a highlight. We will also pursue our Game Changer proposals to develop an elite performance unit, devise a new commercial strategy, expand the Women’s Super League and increase participation.
"St. George’s Park is already recognised as the hub for English football to come together. Coaches make regular use of the facility to share ideas and to learn.
"Our development squads are benefitting from the centre, often alongside the senior sides. The tremendous facilities and opportunities for teams to train together promotes a strong club ethic around the England set-up.
"Meanwhile, the awe-inspiring Wembley Stadium goes from strength to strength. Our focus will be on improving customer experience, especially for fans and our Club Wembley members, alongside a great calendar of events.
"So 2013 will be a fantastic occasion and I would like to thank those who have worked hard in getting us to this stage.
"Everyone involved at every level are great ambassadors for our national game. I look forward to joining with you to celebrate 150 years of The FA and English football."
