England Manager Roy Hodgson was one of the special guests at today's FA Women's Awards and he presented Casey Stoney with the International Player of the Year award.
The Women's captain was in excellent form for England and Team GB this year, as well as for WSL club Lincoln Ladies and Hodgson was pleased to be present at the Waldorf Hilton in London.
He said: "It was my first time at these awards, so it was a great honour to be here as these ceremonies are very important, especially to the people receiving them and I'm certain they'll treasure them as it's great to be recognised by your peers.
"It has been a fantastic year of sport, in particular with the Olympics and in particular women's football and Team GB should be very proud of their achievements.
"Hope Powell and the girls did a magnificent job and it's nice to be part of their awards ceremony and to see them receiving the acclaim they truly deserve."
Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Storey was also in attendance and she presented Arsenal and Team GB's Kim Little with the FA WSL Top Goalscorer award.
Storey said: "It was an incredible turn-out here today. To be surrounded by so many other female athletes and talented footballers is just incredible.
"It's a real privilege to be able to celebrate with them all.
"It has been an incredible year. The whole country had a smile on its face for what seemed like months on end.
"It has been incredible to see so much sporting success, especially from the female teams. I hope the legacy continues."
