Belles seek improved results

Donny Belles determined to stop throwing away leads.

Doncaster Rovers Belles travel to Watford Ladies on Sunday "absolutely determined" to turn draws into wins and stop throwing away leads, says assistant manager Paul Green.

The Yorkshire-based side sit tenth in The FA Tesco Women's Premier League following last weekend's 2-2 with Chelsea when they surrendered a two-goal lead.

It followed an 8-1 humiliation by Arsenal and reminded John Buckley's Belles of their 2-2 draw against Watford back in August, but Green insists their fortunes can change.

"Throwing away leads has been a problem and we're absolutely desperate to start picking up wins rather than draws," he said.

"We're looking to get six points from our next two games and our performance against Chelsea suggests that if we keep our heads we're more than capable of picking up victories.

"We dominated the first half last week and had a couple of chances to make it three so it could have been all over.

"There are a lot of positives for us at the moment and even though we're near the bottom of the league table we think it will even out."

Watford are themselves in dreadful form, having lost four games in a row, failing to score a single goal in the process and conceding 16 times.

And Green added: "They are a decent, hardworking side but we expect to take all three points and start pushing for the top six.
"It's the kind of fixture we need to win because apart from Arsenal and Everton, anyone can beat anyone at the moment."
