FA Respect and Fair Play Awards 2011

Following launch of Respect FC, you can now nominate for special awards.

The FA is once again delighted to announce the launch of the 2011 Respect and Fair Play Awards. These awards provide The FA with an opportunity to recognise and reward those clubs, leagues and individuals up and down the country and at all levels of the game that are showing the way in promoting Respect and Fair Play and dealing with poor behaviour.

In 2010, The FA invited winners as diverse as Arsenal FC, Leamington Hibernian and the Sheppey Sunday League from 12 different categories to The FA Cup Final to be entertained as guests of The FA and to receive their awards from Prince William.

These Awards allow us to recognise positive attempts to encourage players, coaches, spectators or teams to strive for high standards of behaviour, deal with poor conduct, incentivise Fair Play and value Referees.

There are 13 categories this year, from the professional game down to grassroots football game and one of the categories is the prestigious Individual Award. This award will be presented to any individual who, through their own conduct, has provided a positive example of the way in which the game should be played, refereed or administered at any level of the sport.

The Respect and Fair Play Awards will be presented to the winners at Wembley Stadium at a Senior England international match or an FA Cup fixture. Winners also receive a cash prize to be used for the benefit of football.

If you believe there is an individual, club, league or an organisation that deserves to be nominated or you’d like to put yourself forward for consideration, please contact Samantha Sharman for an application form on 0844 980 8200 (ext 4845) or samantha.sharman@thefa.com
