The tournament will be played over three days, 10th - 12th September inclusive and will be held at the state of the art English Institute of Sport.

The teams competing are Mag Varna from Bulgaria, Tirana from Albania and Sheffield Hallam who are the current national England Club Champions.

This tournament will give people an opportunity to watch and learn more about Futsal. It is the world and European form of small-sided football. It has its own UEFA competitions and a FIFA World Cup.

It is fast and skilful and encourages the development of technically gifted players. Futsal sustains professional leagues in Spain, Portugal, Russia, Italy, Brazil and Argentina.

It is a new game that has enormous potential to develop and excite young people. Sheffield is fast becoming an established centre for Futsal in England with a growing schools programme run by the County FA and a Futsal League at Sheffield United's Academy.

James Hope-Gill, the Chief Executive of the County FA said: "We are delighted to be given the honour of hosting such an event. Futsal is a fast growing sport and we are keen to develop and promote it.

"This event gives the County FA and Sheffield an opportunity to prove its capabilities of staging a quality international event. The venue is first class and we believe that the home supporters will turn out to support and cheer on Sheffield Hallam.

"This event will mark the start of a whole new era for Futsal in Sheffield, as we launch the County FA’s first ever Futsal league at the University of Sheffield and we are hoping that once people have seen Futsal played in the UEFA Cup at the English Institute of Sport, it will encourage them to take part."
