The tournament, in its second year, was held at Vida in Barnsley and attracted teams from all over the region. The prize at stake was not only the title of the competition but the winning team also receives complimentary tickets to an England home match.

The final match saw Ravenous Taverners who are the current winners of the County FA Soccerscene 6’s league which runs at Sheffield University, take on the Fives Cup holders – Total Football.

The weather was very wet and cold, but that didn’t damper the spirits of both finalists. Ravenous Taverners fought hard, but had to adapt their normal style of play for 6-a-side with use of the pitch perimeter walls.

Total Football who play regular 5-a-side football played with superior tactics and these in the end put them ahead with the final score being 6-3 to Total Football.

James Hope-Gill, Chief Executive for the County FA said "Its been a great day for our annual five-a-side competition. Teams from across the region have entered. Each and everyone of the players has played hard and fair.

The final was a good competitive match and our congratulations go to Total Football for winning the tournament second year in a row. We are delighted that this event has now firmly established itself among the regions summer tournaments for clubs."

The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA have already committed to staging the event in 2005, however, the venue is yet to be confirmed.
