The East Riding FA are organising the first ever Coaches Conference in the region at Hull University on Sunday 5th December 2004.
The conference is aimed at Coaches and Volunteers who are currently involved or wish to become involved in football at Grassroots level.
Those attending will be able to observe experts present seminars on Club Development, Psychology - the player and the coach - and Futsal. Practical sessions will be on Effective Warm Ups and technical sessions when working with young players.
All these will benefit the individual and support the continued development of football at Grassroots level.
Below is a list of just some of the guest speakers:
Helen Croft
Helen is Regional Football Development Manager for The FA.
Les Howie
Les is the National Club Development Manager for The FA. Les is responsible for programmes such as the FA Charter Standard Scheme and The FA/McDonald's Level One coaching courses.
Keith Earle
Keith is a final year PhD student researching the phenomena of "mental toughness" in athletes. Keith lectures in Sport and Exercise Psychology and is actively involved with a number of elite athletes and professional teams.
Mick Matthews
Mick is well known in the East Riding. He is a respected coach educator. Mick is involved in the promotion of Futsal locally.
John Peacock
John is currently the coach of the England U17 team. A vastly experienced and highly respected coach and coach educator. John was also previously Academy Director at Derby County.
Matt Greig
Matt is a BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Science) accredited sports biomechanist with a particular interest in performance enhancement at the elite level of competition. The current focus is to attract elite sport to the University of Hull, which to date has been successful predominantly in elite soccer and rugby league. Current research interests include the influence of fatigue on soccer injuries.
Dick Bate
Dick is without doubt one of the most highly respected coaches around, having coached numerous England age group teams and staffed coaching courses around the world. Dick has vast experience in club coaching and management. He is currently involved with reviewing coach education.
