The proposal provides for the creation of two additional divisions at Step 4.

Speaking to TheFA.com, Leagues Manager Mike Appleby commented: “The proposal will reduce the travel burden on clubs currently at Step 4."

"Hopefully, it will also provide an incentive for Step 5 clubs to consider moving up the pyramid,” he said. 

The proposal also provides for a dedicated Midland Division at Step 4.
