Up For The Cup brings the excitement of The FA Cup competition into the classroom.
Steeped in history and reaching every corner of the country, The FA Cup is a motivating platform from which to deliver key curriculum subjects.
The Up For The Cup resource includes a range of exercises to support the National Curriculum for History, Science, Geography, Art, and Design Technology and the framework for PSHE and Citizenship at Key Stage 2.
Other activities for Mathematics and English are based on the Literacy and Numeracy strategies in the Teacher Cards.
There is also a special FA Cup Competition for 2005. We're asking pupils to design their own FA Cup Final Matchball.
Using Up For The Cup
These materials have been developed with practising teachers and are designed to be as flexible as possible. The resource can be ‘dipped into’ and an individual exercise chosen to support a particular teaching point. Alternatively it could be used in its entirety.
New items for 2004/5
This year we have made some changes to the pack to enhance the learning experience for you and your pupils. As well as updating The FA Cup information, we have provided you with a brand new Science poster resource based around healthy eating and fitness.
Hopefully you will find The FA Cup competition is an ideal way to bring these issues to pupils’ attention in a fun and inspiring way.
In addition to the Up For The Cup pack, you will find other teaching resources and a guidance sheet on using football to motivate under-achievers. We very much hope you enjoy using Up For The Cup this year and we would love to hear your comments and thoughts.
Please fill in the feedback form in your pack, and win the chance of a visit from The FA Cup to your school.
