| VIDEO: FA Young Leadership Camp 2008 |
|
It might be months until the next FA Young Leadership Camp but the preparation is already well underway. |
This summer's FA Young Leadership Camp is getting ever closer - let's meet the management group who are planning the event.
The majority of them were selected after excelling at last year's camp although they are being expertly guided by some more experienced leaders.
Here they are...
Ted Grizzell - I run an under-13s team and coach two groups of under-eights in Malvern. I'm always looking to do more coaching, gaining as much experience as I can along the way and hopefully employment through it. I’m running my own soccer school now too on the back of the knowledge and experience gained from being involved in The FA Young Leadership Camp.
Rupesh Popat – It is only on the football pitch where I feel free to express my personality. Here, I am able to challenge my abilities whilst simultaneously encouraging others to challenge their own. In the next academic year, I hope to study History and Politics at university. I have an appetite for knowledge and new experience.
Rebecca Todd - There is nothing I love more than running around madly helping kids enjoy football. I really enjoy volunteering within schools, sports clubs and swimming sessions where I work with people who have various disabilities. I'd eventually like to go into the disability sector of football.
Shereen Hutton - I can't think of a better feeling than the satisfaction of helping others do well. I'm currently studying in my first year of A-Levels and would like to do a degree in sports and exercise science at university. At some point I would also like to coach football abroad as I think it will be a fun and valuable experience.
Jordan Swaine - I get a great deal of satisfaction from passing on my football knowledge to others. I’m currently in my last year of sixth form college and will study a PE teaching degree at university. I work as a coach for Bradford City Football in the Community, play for my local club and enjoy socialising with friends and family during my spare time.
Kristian Cumberbatch - I love to have a good laugh pretty much all the time which is why I like working with children. I don't mind what age I teach but love working with kids aged 12 and below as I picture myself as a big kid. In the next few years I hope to coach the under-12s in my local team and complete many coaching certificates.
Lauren O'Sullivan - I’m really enjoying studying sports science in my first year at Exeter University. My aspirations after my degree are to net a sporting career, hopefully in football, and also do Camp America or a football equivalent in the summer of graduation.
Prathiv Kholia - I am a first year student studying Sport Science at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. I have been part of The FA Young Leadership Programme for two years now. Last year, I was given the opportunity to go out to Malawi and it was amazing.
Emily Simpkins – I am currently in my second year working as an apprentice for Derby County Football in the Community. I have been very fortunate with my coaching experiences, such as being given the fantastic opportunity to work in Malawi. I now aim to be the best I can be and hope to have a future career in football coaching.
Elizabeth Adewole – I am currently studying Theatre, Sociology, Communications and Film at A-Level. At university, I hope to study Mass Communications or a degree in which I can be creative. I am also a model and it is my dream to eventually become a supermodel.
Ashley Harris - Football has been a fascination of mine for a huge part of my life. After finishing my A-Levels I intend to study Sports Development or Sports Science at university and hope that this will aid me in a future sporting career.
Further details of The FA Young Leadership Camp will appear on TheFA.com, or contact your county FA for more information.
