A training scheme linked to the Shrewsbury Town youth academy is being set up to bring on the cream of young referees in Shropshire.
"It's an exciting project that'll see us train 20 of the best young refs in the area," Sean Dipple from the Shropshire County FA told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Coaching will include the likes of positioning, fitness, how to deal with players - and even diet and nutrition.
"And the fact that Shrewsbury Town have come on board is a big bonus."
Dipple believes it is a good time to take up the whistle, citing the 'RESPECT' campaign being spread nationally by The FA, and also the greater resources being directed to all referees in Shropshire.
"But it takes commitment," added Dipple.
"We want to see the best referees in Shropshire rising to the top - and who knows, refereeing in the Football League in the near future.
"But, while the new Referees' Academy can fast track them, it will be hard work.
"Dedication is the name of the game, and they need to stick at it to head for the top, and then stay there."
