Sheffield FC went into the game on the back of two straight defeats which had seen them drop to third in the table.

The game started brightly with some positive, end-to-end Futsal and Sheffield took the lead just three minutes in with a classic far post goal from Matthew Hammond.

Boro responded and levelled soon after, when a mix up in the Sheffield defence allowed Boro to capitalise and restore parity.

An intriguing tactical battle ensued with Boro defending deep and springing counter attacks at every opportunity. It was advantage Boro at the half time interval with a 3-2 scoreline in favour of the visitors.

Sheffield FC rallied early in the second half and began the task of overturning the deficit, now demonstrating a greater cutting edge to their possession than previously witnessed.  This was rewarded with goals from Cook and Chapman to give Sheffield the lead with ten minutes remaining.

However, another trademark counter attack threatened to spoil the Sheffield party, when Boro again equalised with just over five minutes remaining.

A draw was looking the likely result now, but a great Sheffield attack dissected the organised and resolute Boro defence when a precise, diagonal pass found Moore alone at the back post to give Sheffield the spoils with only a couple of minutes remaining.

Sheffield FC now face league leaders Tranmere Victoria in their next game on Sunday 18th May.
