All across the country, squads are being announced as more than 5,000 players start out on their own road to the new Wembley Stadium as they bid to reach the final of The FA UMBRO Fives – the country’s biggest 5-a-side tournament.

Playing on the famous Wembley turf is the highlight of any footballer's career and now The FA and UMBRO have teamed up to offer you the chance to play under world football’s greatest arch – are you ready?

The ‘Road To Wembley’ tour hit the road last week with some of English football’s brightest stars to discuss 5-a-side football and life at their club.

The first player to take the wheel of the mini was Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha who put local 5-a-side team Manchester Medics through their paces at the JJB Soccer Dome.

The England U21 international, who recently celebrated making his 50th appearance for Stuart Pearce’s side, spent time with the team passing on tips ahead of their local heat.

Nedhum said: "I’m a big fan of 5-a-side football. We usually finish training at Man City with a quick 5-a-side game. It’s great to sharpen your first touch and improve your movement in a game."

"Playing at Wembley is the dream for every professional. The new stadium looks incredible and hopefully one day I’ll be there with Man City."

David Murray, captain of the Manchester Medics, was delighted to give his boys a bit of extra training before their local heat.

"What better way to prepare yourself then to receive some tips from a Premiership player.

"Nedhum explained to us that it’s all about keeping possession and movement off the ball.

"I’ll be putting the lads through their paces over the next couple of weeks to make sure all of Nedhum’s advice is put into practice. Fingers crossed we’ll be at Wembley in June."

The FA UMBRO Fives local heats are being held across the country and you can choose from a number of different commercial and County FA providers in your area to suit your team’s availability and geography.

You will need to contact the venue that you choose to play at for an application form, which you will need to fill in and return with your £40 entry fee. Alternatively, if it is easier for you to access your local County FA then application forms are available from there though they must be returned to the host venue.

Each local heat is scheduled at least three weeks in advance of the appropriate regional final to give your team time to prepare for the next stage should you qualify.
