More than 40 teams took part at a recent Ability Counts Festival which was held at Rugby Town FC.

The teams, incorportating boys, girls and adults, were divided into five sections - under-12, under-16 as well three adult - for this West Midlands Regional Ability Counts pan disability festival.

The winners were Warwickshire Warriors, Hallmoor, Sutton Special Olympics and Special Olympics Leamington Spa who will represent the region at the national finals at the David Beckham Academy on 22 July.

Of equally good news is that six new teams want to join the regional ability counts league next season.

The organisers would like to thank the group members for their hard work behind the scenes which ensured the festival took place.

Further thanks should be given to the volunteers from each of the five County Football Associations, the two Young Leaders from Birmingham, BCFDS, Rugby Town Football Club, West Midlands Regional Ability Counts League and St Johns Ambulance.

A special thank you also goes to the support shown by Roy Northall, Vice Chairman of Worcestershire CFA, James Self, Regional England Scout, Dave Boost, Coventry Football in the Community Scheme and John McDougal.
