Hi everyone.

I made my return against Northampton on Saturday, which was great. I got a warm reception from the Forest fans - that was nice after being out for so long.

It was a good game to come back for - the City Ground was packed. I think Northampton brought 3-4,000 fans.

I was supposed to come on after 65 minutes - I was stripped off and ready to go when Jules [Julian Bennett] headed in what turned out to be the winner.

He does not get many goals - I think that's only his second this season. He's got a decent left peg, but he's one of those players that the crowd jokes and shouts 'shoot' to if he's 20 yards out.

He's a brave lad, the sort who would head the crossbar if he thought he'd score! He'd tackle a brick wall for the club - he's Forest through and through.

He's a good lad but ends up getting some stick from the boys. He's a local boy but speaks like Ali G! He always spends half an hour in front of the mirror too just to make sure he's looking ok! He likes to think he's a hit with the ladies but from the stories I hear, he's more talk than action! He's good mates with Wes Morgan - they always go out together. They'll often go into town and buy the latest white trainers, baggy jeans and baseball cap with the flat peak.

Anyway, his goal meant I only got five minutes at the end. I only got one or two touches, it was more a case of keeping possession and shape at that stage.

It was a good win. You could see from the start that they were not going to press us, they were happy to let us have the ball. That made it hard for us to break them down. It looked like it might be one of those days, but I always thought we would score.

When teams play like they did, you just hope that one or two of them might lose their shape and get dragged out of position. You just have to keep plugging away. It takes a lot for a team to come to the City Ground and be disciplined for 90 minutes.

I played 75 minutes on Wednesday against an Italian team called AC Renate in a friendly. I felt really sharp. It was good to put in a good performance in front of the gaffer and show him I am worthy of a starting place.

I had to come off early though after taking an elbow in the face. I was a complete accident, but painful though. I had a bleeding nose and have chipped a tooth, so I better book myself in with the dentist.

Our new signing Luke Chambers played too. He played right back, which is not his natural position, but I was really impressed with him. He's got a lot of pace and talks a lot, which is good.

It was Valentine's Day that evening, but the missus was due in at the hospital for a minor operation on Thursday, so we did something on Monday instead. I cooked a roast, lit the candles, bought flowers - the sort of thing a bloke has to do. She was pleased though, which was good!

We play Brighton on Saturday, so we will travel down on Friday around lunchtime. Depending on the traffic, we will probably get down there for about three or four.

After we check in the hotel there are normally a few games of cards while others have a little siesta before dinner at 7pm. We usually eat pasta, rice, chicken, steak potatoes - that sort of thing the night before a game. Then it's back to the cards or TV before the gaffer calls lights out, which is normally 10.30pm.

Breakfast the next morning is optional, you can have cereal and toast, or eggs and beans on toast, then we have our pre-match meal at 11.30am. Again it will be pasta and chicken - that sort of thing. I don't like to feel too full before a game, but if I want a quick snack before the game I will have a couple of Jaffa Cakes.

I room with Perchy. He's a good roommate. He's one of the only blokes I have shared with who does not snore! The only problem with him is his fish oil, which he takes every day. He just swigs it from the bottle! I tried some on my finger once and it's horrid. The bottle exploded in his washbag once and the smell has not gone away. It stinks! When we get to the hotel we have to take the bag to the bathroom, shut the curtains and bury it between some towels!

Brighton will be quite a hard game. I don't expect to start though. The Withdean Stadium is quite strange to play at. You park in a really small car park, there are never many fans about, then you get changed in a portacabin. The away fans seem miles from the pitch while the home fans are stuck behind an athletics track. They do make a bit of noise though, which is a credit to them. I imagine we will take a decent number again.

I was surprised when I heard that we had not won away in two months. We should have wrapped up the points against Bradford two weeks ago, while a point at Swansea recently was a good result. We were good away from home at the start of the season.

We then play Blackpool at home on Tuesday. It's good when you have two games so close together, it gives you a good chance to get some points on the board.

Our captain Ian Breckin said in the local press this week that we should get automatic promotion if we win ten of our remaining games. Let's hope we can get two of those before I next speak to you.

What has been your best goal this season?
Gary Marshall
I have got six this season, but I would say it was the right foot volley against Yeading. It did not feel the best connection, but as soon as I struck it I knew the keeper was not going to get it. It’s always nice to score with your wrong foot.

When did you realise that you had the talent to make it as a professional footballer?
Chad Billings
I don’t think I ever realised I had the talent. When I was growing up I just thought I was better than the group I was in. From playing in the garden to playing for Notts County when I was eight or nine, I just thought I was one of the better players. I used to get put in the year above. Being a footballer was all I ever thought about when I was growing up. I used to tell my teachers at school ‘my grades don’t matter, I’m going to be a footballer’. But in the end I did get my head down and do my school work.

What is your favourite non-league team?
Jordan Williams

I don’t really follow non-league football, but one of my mates plays for Forest Town on Saturdays. I have seen them play before. The last time I saw them was the weekend we played Chelsea. I was injured so did not travel with the team, so I watched my mate instead. It’s not a bad level of football. I have a few mates who play. It’s quite funny seeing them get plastered on a Friday or Saturday then pulling on the boots the next day! I don’t think I could do that!
