Our look at the new season continues with League Two new boys Accrington Stanley.
Skipper Ian Craney is relishing the club's return to the league, especially after a tough pre-season schedule. Here's what Iain had to say...What did you do over the summer?"I actually played in the non-league Four Nations Cup for England which was a great experience. We were definitely the best team and deserved to win if you ask me. We ended up losing to Wales by a single goal in the final. I was gutted. I had a couple of weeks off and went on holiday to Cyprus with the girlfriend. I reported back for training on 26 June raring to go."Did you watch the World Cup?"It was fantastic. Of course it was disappointing that we didn't win it but I just love watching football. It's great to see such great players. It's really inspired me and the rest of the lads for the new season and we've all come back on a high."How's your pre-season been?"It's been hard. We've been doing a lot of double sessions. The gaffer has pushed us really hard and we've responded. We've just got a few more weeks before the season and we're feeling confident."Have you brought any new players in?"Yeah, the gaffer's bought a few new players in to help strengthen the squad and they have settled in well. They're all really good lads and great players.Sean Doherty has come in from Port Vale and looks a great player and Julian N'da looks a good player as well."Any players to watch out for?"Sean Doherty. He's been really impressive in training. He's full of pace and really tricky on the ball. He's fitted in well with the rest of the team and seems like a great lad."Are there any teams you'll be looking out for?"There's a few as there's some big clubs down here. I'm looking forward to visiting Swindon and Walsall but I reckon the derby games will be best. I can't wait to play Chester. All the family will be there so it will be a special day for me. It's a great achievement for me personally to play in the league."Any tips to win the league?"I reckon it'll be Swindon. They look really strong and have some good players."What are your personal ambitions for the season?"It's got to be top ten. That would be a massive achievement for us. We need to get a good start and carry on where we left off last year. We've got a great team spirit and know that we'll do well. A cup run would be nice as well."Are your preparations any different to last year?"I don't think so. We showed last year that if you work hard you get what you deserve in football. We won the league last year so we are going in the right direction. The gaffer's worked us a bit harder than last season but he's also been sure to give us enough rest."Stay with TheFA.com as we continue our build-up to the news season.
