SportsAid is an independent charity that has three main objectives;
- To further the education of young people through the medium of sport.
- To encourage those with social or physical disadvantages to improve their lives through sport
- To enable those living in poverty to take advantage of the opportunities offered by sport.
SportsAid awards grants both nationally and regionally in order to ensure that it helps as many people as possible and that its grants make a difference to the people who receive them.
Who is it for?
SportsAid grant assistance is available to individual sports competitors in the UK. To qualify for a national SportsAid grant, an applicant must be;
- aged between 12 and 18 years
- disabled of any age
- in genuine financial need and therefore, not in receipt of a National Lottery World Class Fund grant
- a member of a national squad
to be considered for a regional SportsAid grant, an applicant must have top six national standing or be in a national squad.
What funding is available?
A typical national grant is £500 per year and a typical regional grant is usually £250 per year.
