Arsenal's charity drive

Bob Wilson-led Willow Foundation benefits from young Gunners' generosity.

Over the festive period, the young female players at the Arsenal Centre of Excellence worked hard to raise money for charity.

The 60 players in the U10, U12, U14 and U16 sides and all the coaching staff sold Christmas raffle tickets to raise over £1,000 for the Great Ormond Street Children's Charity, Arsenal's official charity for 2009-10. The draw took place at the last training session of the year on 17 December.

On Tuesday 29 December 2009, players from all the age groups spent the morning and afternoon packing bags at the Sainsbury's superstore near to the training ground in London Colney with the aim of helping to raise money for the Willow Foundation which is a national charity led by ex-Arsenal keeper Bob Wilson and his wife Meg.

The Willow Foundation provides special days for seriously ill 16-40 year olds.
