Get Into Football

Here come the girls

England stars and County FAs team up to launch mentoring scheme.

As the popularity of the game for girls and women continues to go from strength to strength, the demand for a dedicated, qualified workforce of coaches and support staff is crucial to ensure the adequate provision and positive development of our players.

In 2009, a unique partnership will see each of the four County Football Associations from Yorkshire running a series of coach mentoring schemes for individuals involved with the female game.

Throughout April and May, West Riding, North Riding, East Riding and Sheffield & Hallamshire County FAs will stage a wide range of events aimed at increasing the knowledge and confidence amongst their active coaches, and offer ongoing advice and support regardless of each coach's level.

The programme will include workshops and sessions led by key individuals from the local, regional and national football community, including England Women’s National Coach, Hope Powell, National Development Manager for Women’s Football, Rachel Pavlou, England Women’s Goalkeeper, Rachel Brown and many more.

Individuals booking onto one or more of the programmes events can also attend the Women’s FA Cup Final in order to carry out a match analysis task.

If you are a coach involved with the female game, aged 16 years and above, and are interested in getting the very best advice and guidance from the game's top coaches, then sign up now.
