London FA to host female football forum

Event will be held at White Hart Lane on 14 October.

The London FA will be running a one-off female football forum on Wednesday 14 October at White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hotspur FC.

The session starts at 5pm and will run for 45 minutes, and is FREE to attend. This event is part of the 2009 ‘Kick it Out' Weeks of Action, which are held on an annual basis to help break down barriers that some groups may face in football.

The forum will consist of a guest panel including Jacqui Oatley, BBC Radio and Match of the Day commentator and Rachel Pavlou, The FA's National Women’s & Girls’ Football Development Manager and an England Women's international.

"It’s great that we have managed to attract such high profile guests to be part of this forum," said Natalie Huntley, Women’s & Girls’ Football Development Officer for north London. "Following the success of the England Women’s team at Euro 2009 it is a really exciting time to be involved in Women's football.’’

The forum is open to anyone who is involved in the Women's game and wishes to come along and listen to the guest speakers and then pose their questions to them.

Emma Barnes, Women’s & Girls’ Football Development Officer for south London said: "This is a unique opportunity for people to come along and find out more from women who are involved in different aspects the game. So if you have a question you want to ask or simply want to find out more, then this is the event for you.’’

The forum will also be running an earlier session for local schools who will be invited along to attend and find out more about Women in football.
