Football Development Officer
Salary £22,000 per annum
Full time contract until June 30 2012 (Post continuation subject to funding)
This position reports directly to the County Football Development Manager and will support and develop football in accordance with the County FA Development Plan.
The role includes responsibility for developing football in the following areas:-
• Support and develop all areas of girls’ and women’s, disability and small sided football.
• Ensure there are football opportunities for all from under-represented groups.
• Generally support and work with the WFA Development Team to deliver the County Development Plan, creating additional and improving football opportunities across Worcestershire.
This will involve working strategically with key agencies e.g. Hereford and Worcestershire Sports Partnership, Local Authorities, Local Education Authorities, schools, local leagues and clubs.
The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate or equivalent, with knowledge and understanding of sports development. A comprehension of female football structures and pathways, barriers faced by females, disabled and participants from under represented groups and knowledge of sports equity is required. The candidate needs to be passionate about and committed to the development of female, disability and small sided football at a local level.
Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing projects/events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning skills is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected.
