Middlesex FA - Communications and Marketing Officer

Middlesex FA are recruiting for a Communications and Marketing Officer.

Middlesex FA have introduced a new position; that of Communications and Marketing Officer.

We have long recognised that many aspects of the Association’s work is not well publicised, that our web site requires constant attention and our activities need promoting. It is intended that this post will provide the expertise to address these points. The position is full-time and based at the Headquarters and will be offered on initially a one-year contract which will hopefully be renewable if the postholder achieves his or her aims and targets.

The salary is in the range £19,500 to £21,000 depending on age and experience with the main purpose to:

  • To increase County FA awareness, power and loyalty, to best identify and deliver commercial benefits for the County FA, and to provide support for County FA properties
  • To assist the Council and staff to deliver targets contained in the Association's Development Strategy 
  •  To manage the Association’s website

The successful candidate should have and be able to demonstrate that they can meet the following criteria:

  • Be an efficient and accurate administrator 
  • Be computer literate and have a good knowledge of the following software packages:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Access 
    • Desk top publishing 
    • Website Management/Administration

    Ideally they will also have:

    • Experience of marketing in the sports/football industry
    • Good understanding of grassroots football 
    • Consumer-facing
    • To be able to undertake and utilise research, as required
    • Have existing contacts within the football industry
    • Experience of obtaining sponsorship and servicing sponsors
    • Background in event management 
    • Have an excellent telephone manner
    • Able to work accurately whilst under pressure and to deadlines
    • Numerate and comfortable when dealing with figures
    • Flexible approach to work and prepared to attend meetings, etc outside of normal office hours (time off in lieu will be available)
    • Be able to demonstrate a customer-orientated approach to work
