Community Football Coach - Westmorland CFA

Westmorland County Football Association Limited and Morecambe FC Community Sports Trust working in partnership with The Football Association and The Football League Trust are seeking to appoint a full time Community Football Coach.

This exciting new position will report to the Executive Officer of the Westmorland County FA and will commence on 1 January 2010. The successful applicant will be based at both the Westmorland County FA and Morecambe FC offices.

The post is full-time for 37 hours per week and will include a minimum of 30 hours per week of coaching, including clubs, schools and after school clubs.

The new post will provide support for schools and clubs across the County, specifically operating in priority areas where current activity is low. The individual will also work with the Girls’ and Women’s Football Development Officer to provide coaching support at all levels of the girls’ and women’s football pyramid, whilst also promoting the positive name of Morecambe FC Community Sport Trust and aligning its activities to the Football League Trust Strategy.

You must hold a minimum of a Football Association Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football, and have a good understanding of the organisation and structure of football development. You must be a confident verbal communicator who can plan coaching sessions, autonomously or as part of a team. You must have an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities, and experience of working in diverse cultural communities.

The salary is £16,000 per annum and is an initial three year fixed term contract commencing 1 January 2010. It is anticipated that the post will be extended subject to securing funding.

You will need also to have a current driving license and also be able to work evenings, weekends and school holidays.
