FA Skills Coach - Kent and Manchester

Skills Coach vacancies have arisen in Kent and Manchester.

CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE FUTURE OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL?

The Football Association introduced the Skills Programme to provide all 5-11s with a skill set to develop their game, foster lifelong healthy, active lifestyles and to improve the long-term performance of our national game. This Programme will have a massive short and long-term impact on the nation’s children and football as a whole. The Programme aims to give 5-11s age appropriate coaching and self-help tools to learn the basics needed to reach their full potential.

Working with Tesco, The FA aims to provide two million children with skills training via a coaching programme and a self-help website.

The FA has two coaching vacancies, a full-time Team Leader in Kent and a full-time Team Leader in Manchester, to add to the 88 staff currently employed across the 18 counties the Programme is working within.

One successful candidate will lead a team of four in Kent and the other will lead a team of four in Manchester. The teams organise and deliver Skills Programmes to 5-11 year olds through FA Skills Development Centres and promote the programme through schools, Charter Standard Clubs and Girls Centres of Excellence. They will also carry out administrative duties to support the coaching programmes.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Minimum FA/UEFA Level 2 valid coaching award knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate an appropriate technique and skill development practices
  • Ability to enthuse and communicate with 5-11 year olds in a positive learning environment
  • Energy and enthusiasm and proactive style
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative and plan own workload
  • Willingness to work unsocial working hours
  • Passion for football and coaching
  • Prior experience of leading a team

Due to the requirements of this role, successful applicants will undergo a screening process that will include an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
