RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire have achieved the FA Charter Standard Award after submitting the application through the RAF FA.Newly appointed Football Development Officer, John Duff played a key role in the club's achievement which completes a very successful year.
Both the first and Second teams won their respective divisions of the Lincs League and also appeared in the Division League Cup Finals, where they were both beaten by narrow margins.
To achieve the award the club had to demonstrate a standard of excellence in all management areas of the club including Committee organisation, accounting practices, safety for players, drawing up a disciplinary code and putting in place an equal opportunities policy.
The RAF FA is committed to helping all RAF Stations achieve the award and this is indeed one of the major targets of the RAFFA FDO over the coming 12 months.
Gordon Smith, said: “The award was an excellent way to finish the season and reflected the desire within the club to reach the highest standards in every aspect of football.
"The process was easy to follow and the equipment provided by The FA to us on completion of the award has been a real incentive for the staff, players and coaches involved in football at RAF Coningsby.”
