LOASS gain Charter Standard

Orient's Advanced Soccer School have been awarded the Charter Standard.

The Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School (LOASS) have recently been awarded The FA Charter Standard Award.

The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme was established in February 2001 and helps clubs to improve standards of coaching, administration, player development and child protection.

The award is presented to those clubs who have raised their standards in these areas and lead the field in promoting best football practice, both on and off the pitch, in grassroots football.

LOASS, part of Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP), maintains an ethos all the way through its clubs of developing players as well as each individual being as important as the next with a strong vein of discipline running through the club.

LOASS has teams at every year from U8s to U17s, Colts (Youth team – 16-18 year olds) as well as a Seniors team.

“This award is something that has been on our must-do list for quite a while,” explained LOASS Secretary Steve Jones.

“However, it has finally been achieved and much of the credit should go to Danny Fenner (Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP), Football Development Manager) as without his drive we wouldn't have been able to proceed with the application - and our sponsors, the University of London (UEL).

“The FA Charter Standard Award will show potential and current players and parents that we are a club who are well-run and have the players’ best interests at the forefront of our objectives.

“Even though we have achieved this award, we will not rest on our laurels and we are already looking to progress onto a higher status, which will involve more of the work done with LOCSP and Leyton Orient FC.

“This award also shows potential fund donors that we are a club who will not misuse funds and ensure that it is put into the right areas of the club and players’ development.

“Everyone at LOASS is over-the-moon about this award.”
