2002 World Cup Semi Final
Wednesday 26th June, Saitama

A sneaky strike four minutes after half time from Ronaldo was enough to give Brazil victory over Turkey in their World Cup semi final match in Saitama this afternoon.

Brazil who painfully sent England out of the competition on Friday now face Germany in Sunday's final in Yokohama - the first time the two nations have met in a World Cup.

Chances came to both sides, but where a very plucky Turkey failed to breach the Brazilian defence, the arguable man of the tournament Ronaldo turned his marker and buried his toe poked effort into the corner of Rustu's net.

The Samba men held on to reach the final and set up what will be a giant encounter between two nations who between them have won the competition seven times.
