Paul Gascoigne is recalled to the Everton side for a big FA Cup tie at Middlesbrough. But Gazza is left off the pace as Boro win 3-0.

Walter Smith is sacked by the Goodison Park club, to return last week as Manchester United’s assistant to Fergie until the end of the season, while Gazza’s Everton career was effectively ended at The Riverside and he finishes the season in Div One with Burnley.
