I have signed for another two years which I am more than happy about. It gives me more security than I had two weeks ago.

Most of the time being a player is the best job in the world but it's not much fun when you're out of contract. So getting a new deal is great news for any player to hear.

We can plan for next season properly now that we know we are safe. I couldn't tell you how many points we have, only that we are not going down!

But more to the point we are in touching distance of the play-offs and the players all want to work hard until the end of the season.

Inevitably there is going to be some disappointment at the end of the season for some of the players. We are probably not going to have a huge squad next season so there are going to be some who miss out.

It is hard for players to be told they are not going to be kept on and still give their all to the cause, so to speak.

Still, we were all professional enough to cancel our 'safety party' that was planned for the day after the Rotherham game two weeks ago.

It wasn't just the players who decided against it. We all thought as a club we had a job to finish off and should push on and try and get to 72 points.

But this weekend is part of the reason we are so pleased to be in this league next season. Games against teams as big as Sunderland are what this division is all about. But they are standing in our way of a play-off place and it would be great to get something out of the game.

We are all raring to go after the Easter break. Ollie gave us four days off, but I came back injured! And they didn't believe my story, which was I woke up Monday morning and I couldn't straighten my leg.

Honestly, it was as simple as that.

I must have done it in my sleep or something. Or maybe it was from too much lying around on Sunday, because I don't remember tweaking it.

At first I thought it was a cartilage problem but it turned out to be tendonitis. It came right enough for me to train on Thursday and I'll be fine for the Sunderland game.

As far as Birmingham Ladies are going, ten of my players have been in the Algarve with England for a pre-Euro 2005 tournament.

For a lot of my team, this season has been all about England, and the domestic campaign is winding down. We have four games left and we have our eye on a top-four finish.

When Hope Powell names her 20-strong squad for the Euros it would be great for at least half to come from Birmingham Ladies.

It's been a great year for our internationals because three members of the England squad broke into the side through playing for us. Which is nice to know from a manager's point of view.

QPR have two consecutive home games, first against Sunderland on Saturday 02 April at 3pm, then Gillingham on Tuesday 05 April at 7.45pm.

Birmingham Ladies play Liverpool on Sunday 03 April at 2pm.
