The 6-1 loss against Leeds was probably what we needed - a kick up the backside. But we are not a bad team overnight, and we are fifth for a reason.

It proved to us we can't take anyone for granted. Leeds are down near the bottom, but I can't see them there for too long.

It's similar to Cardiff, who we play this weekend - a lot of people would say they are under-achieving at the moment. But we are prepared for them.

We'll be OK, and we'll see a good reaction.

We can't all do an Arsenal and go through a season unbeaten. When you do get beaten, you have to dig deep, and the manager and coaching staff look around for characters in the side.

The manager was off again this week, and it looks like he will be away for another two weeks. It has been a lot quieter around the training ground, but we all wish Ollie a speedy recovery.

Because he has been off sick, there was speculation linking him to a job at Wolves. It would have been handy for me, it's right on my doorstep!

Seriously, when there is talk of him going somewhere else it's flattering, but he's so proud of what he has done here that he wants to stay.

He is Rangers through-and-through. He wants to get the job done. When we spoke in the summer about me coming here for my second spell he said we have unfinished business - and I know exactly what he meant.

Other people say he must be crazy not to want this or that job, but it's plain to everyone here that he's proud of the QPR badge. He's definitely true to his word.

After our defeat at Leeds, I didn't face the music with the Ladies team the next day - I went scouting instead. I went to see Arsenal play, because we've got them in a couple of weeks.

Even if QPR get battered, my team don't give me too much stick most of the time. They had the same kind of beating themselves earlier this season, and now I've had it. They have bounced back from their beating, and are now on a five-game unbeaten run.

The girls in my side follow the games I am in and take a big interest. Helen Maggs watches a lot of our games at Loftus Road.

I think I get a bit of respect from the girls because I am a player as well, and have been there and done it myself - or am still doing it actually. I'm not at the philosopher-manager stage yet like Arsene Wenger!

Being a player counts for something when I am talking to them, whether I am handing out praise, or telling them about something that needs a bit of work.

Hopefully we can kickstart another run against Cardiff. We haven't faced them since they beat QPR in the play-off final two seasons ago, so I know there are a few in our side who are out for revenge. Speak to you next week.

QPR play Cardiff at Loftus Road at 12.45 pm, and Birmingham Ladies play Liverpool at Solihull Borough on Sunday at 2pm.
