The Gunners skipper sprained an ankle when he was fouled during Saturday's win over Aston Villa.

Doug Ellis last night insisted there is nothing standing in the way of David O'Leary signing a new contract to keep him at Aston Villa until 2008.

Chairman Ellis held talks with O'Leary last week and the Villa boss was keen to hear that money would be invested in players.
