Jose Mourinho hit out at Manchester United’s Mikael Silvestre after Chelsea had silenced the French star’s taunts.
Blues boss Mourinho was left fuming by Silvestre’s claim his side lacked team spirit.
After Eidur Gudjohnsen’s goal had seen off United at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho said: "Silvestre said we had no time to create a big spirit at Chelsea. But he was wrong.
"We showed an unbelievable team spirit. To see my team playing so well after a few weeks together is a wonderful start for us." (The Sun)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has challenged his side to go through the season unbeaten again.
The Gunners sent out a clear signal of their intent to defend their Premiership crown with a 4-1 win at Everton and moved within one game of equalling Nottingham Forest’s record top-flight unbeaten run of 42 matches.
"We try to play football, go forward and score goals," said Wenger. "That’s what we did last year when we went through the season unbeaten and we’ll try to do it again this year." (Daily Express)

Sam Allardyce has persuaded Liverpool striker El-Hadji Diouf to join Bolton on a year’s loan and the dealis expected to go through in the next 48 hours.
Portsmouth and Spanish side Malaga were reported to be interested in the twice African Footballer of the Year – but he chose Bolton after meeting boss Allardyce.
Diouf’s agent Alexander Grouet revealed: "El-Hadji was won over by what Bolton’s manager had to say and by the club’s ambition – the aim to do even better than last season’s eighth-place finish." (The Sun)

Gary Megson will step up his efforts to sign Michael Carrick this week, hoping the presence of Kanu will persuade the West Ham midfielder to move to The Hawthorns.
