This was sweet revenge for the mauling Arsenal took at the hands of United the previous February.
However, Arsenal did have to come from behind to win the fixture - the first and only time Wenger's Arsenal have achieved this feat in the league against United.
The visitors took the lead when Paul Scholes tapped in from the edge of the six-yard box following good work by left-back Mikaël Silvestre, who took advantage of a slip by Lauren to get to the byline.
Amazingly, it was the England midfielder's first league goal against the Gunners, but it only served to spur the home side on, and in the second half they responded with three goals to win the game.
The scourge of United, Ljungberg, equalised three minutes after the break with a brilliant chip from outside of the area, before two mistakes from goalkeeper Barthez handed his international colleague Henry two goals on a plate after 80 and 85 minutes respectively.
Arsenal sealed the championship later that year at, of all places, Old Trafford.
