Opened in July 2003, and named after the revered inaugural king, it’s partly covered on all sides, has 30,000 seats and was the first stadium to be ready for the tournament.

How to get there

Under 1km northwest of the city centre, and a short walk from Praça do Toural, a popular square in the city. The main bus station is about 1km away and the train stationabout 1.5km.
