Stylianos Giannakopoulos of Greece.
Greece
Otto Rehhagel's side qualified ahead of Spain and could go on to ruin the Iberian party in Group A where Portugal and Spain are favourites to go through to the quarter-finals.
Otto Rehhagel, Greece’s German coach, has repeated the magical touch he displayed at Werder Bremen by steering Greece to only their second European Championship Finals.
The campaign got off to a slow start with 2-0 defeats at the hands of rivals Spain and Ukraine before Rehhagel’s side finally earned some points by beating both Armenia and Northern Ireland.
The pivotal moment of the whole group came with Greece’s stunning win in Zaragoza, Stylianos Giannakopoulos’ goal enough to bring his side back into contention.
The Greeks held their nerve to win all three of their final games by a single goal and, with a strong defence and vibrant attack, they shouldn’t be discounted from the Group A reckoning.
