The current European Championship holders trailed Sven's men for the majority of the game, only to break our hearts in injury time and Vieira paid tribute to England's performance on the night.

"We were happy with a draw," he said.

"If England play like that, they'll have a big chance of going through.

"England played really well. Rooney was fantastic."
